On 27 May 2026, the Cinema Tiziano in Rome hosted a screening of "Malevych", a film by Ukrainian director Daria Onyshchenko. The Embassy was among the co-organisers of the event, which was initiated by the Associazione Consorti Dipendenti del Ministero degli Affari Esteri in cooperation with the International Film Club.
Produced as an international co-production between Ukraine, Switzerland, Serbia, and Italy, the film is dedicated to the life and legacy of Kazimir Malevych, an artist of Ukrainian origin, one of the leading figures of the twentieth-century avant-garde movement and the founder of Suprematism.
Prior to the screening, reproductions of Malevych’s artworks were exhibited. The film’s producer, Maria Kael, introduced the audience to the project and shared insights into its production process.
The event was attended by Heads of Mission and diplomats accredited to the Holy See, representatives of the Associazione Consorti Dipendenti del Ministero degli Affari Esteri, and members of the Ukrainian community in Italy.
The screening provided another opportunity to present Ukrainian culture and artistic heritage to an international audience.
