On Wednesday, May 18, the Embassy of Ukraine to the Holy See organized a visit to the Vatican of the international social project "Children for Peace in the Whole World!". It included an audience with Pope Francis of the delegation consisting of 100 people, mainly children (orphans, refugees and victims of the aggression of the Russian Federation in the East of Ukraine).
The Holy Father addressed them with a separate greeting: "With particular affection I greet Ukrainian children, orphans and refugees due to the armed conflict that still continues in the country’s East."
The pontiff also said that he "renews his prayers for a lasting truce, which would facilitate a weakened population, and would bring cloudless future for new generations."
After the Audiences Pope Francis met with little pilgrims from Ukraine.
