Delegation of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church headed by Josyf Milan, the the auxiliary bishop of the Kyiv diocese participated in the VII World Congress for the Pastoral Care of Migrants that took place in the Pontifical University "Urbaniana" in Rome.
The event was attended by a large number of scholars and practitioners from around the world that specialize in migration problems (up to 300 people), including the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Holy See Tetyana Izhevska, Apostolic Visitor for the Ukrainian greek catholics in Italy and Spain Dionisiy (Liakhovych).
During his speech the Ukrainian delegation drew attention to the events in Ukraine: Revolution of dignity and aggression of Russia in our country and asked to pray for Ukraine. The participants were also able to watch video presentation on the said subject. Participants were informed of the sharp increase in the number of IDPs resulting from the annexation of the Crimea and the military actions in eastern Ukraine, which is a new challenge in the context of internal migration in the country. In addition, the speakers informed that the Church actively assists Ukrainian migrants abroad and their families and especially children in Ukraine.
