Ambassador of Ukraine to the Holy See Tetyana Izhevska met with US Ambassador Kenneth Heckett.

The Ambassadors exchanged views on developments in Eastern Ukraine and the results of the recent parliamentary elections in Ukraine and the US Congress, and on the prospects of bilateral relations with the Holy See and other international issues.

The Ambassador of Ukraine presented to the Head of the American mission an embroidered icon by fr. Dmytro Blazheyowskyi - scientist and leader of the Ukrainian diaspora (US citizen) and discussed possible joint initiatives in the next year to mark the 105th anniversary of the birth of the artist.

In October 2010, the Embassy of Ukraine and the USA were the organizers of the event to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the artist.
