Archbishop Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, met for the firs time with the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Holy See, greeting again the ambassadors he has already met during his service in the Secretariat of State, and introducing himself to those he had not yet met. The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Holy See Tetiana Izhevska took part in the meeting.
After thanking the Diplomatic Corps for their congratulations upon his nomination as Secretary of State, and extending his Christmas and New Year greetings, the archbishop gave an address to the diplomats on the priorities of the foreign policy of the Holy See and important international events.
“In a time in which many parts of the world are faced with numerous forms of violence and the persistence of social inequality, I would like to renew before you the guarantee of my willingness to collaborate in the search for peace and respect for the dignity of every human being” said Parolin.
In the framework of the event Ambassador had a brief conversation with the Secretary of State.
