“Steel Allies”: Andrii Sybiha announces joint fundraising campaign by the MFA and UNITED24 for ground robotic platforms
01 August 2025 15:22

On the first day of the Conference of the Heads of Ukraine's Diplomatic Missions, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced the launch of a fundraising campaign to procure ground robotic platforms designed for evacuating the wounded from the frontline.

The initiative, aimed at equipping the Ukrainian Armed Forces with life-saving robotic systems, was launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine together with UNITED24, the global fundraising platform initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

All of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions around the world will join the campaign, engaging Ukrainian communities abroad and international partners.

“Ukrainian diplomacy works daily to strengthen our defense. We consistently secure concrete agreements with partners on air defense systems, equipment, ammunition, and investments in our defense industry. Supporting defense technologies - especially ground robotic systems - allows us to scale unique innovations that save lives. Diplomacy stands with our military, and this campaign is a direct contribution to strengthening our defense capabilities,” said Minister Andrii Sybiha.

Ground robotic platforms can operate in extremely dangerous and hard-to-reach areas. This not only boosts operational efficiency but also protects Ukrainian soldiers from enemy drones and artillery fire.

The fundraiser will cover various robot models, including Targan 300, Volia-E, TerMIT, Ardal 920, Ratel H, Zmiiy, Bro-1409, Thor 1000/800, and Teslia.

Evacuation robots transport the wounded from the frontline without endangering rescue teams.
Logistical robots are multi-purpose platforms that deliver food, ammunition, and equipment to forward positions. They can also deploy electronic warfare tools and remote surveillance systems.
Demining robots assist in reconnaissance, surveillance, and mine clearance. They neutralize booby traps, anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, ensuring safe passage for troops and equipment. Ten “Zmiiy” robots can clear up to 20 hectares per day.

Ground robotic systems have become indispensable tools in modern warfare — reducing risks to human life and providing a crucial technological edge on the battlefield.

Support this new fundraising effort and help save the lives of Ukrainian defenders.
