Born on November 19, 1956, in Pryluky (Chernihiv Region, Ukraine). In 1978 graduated from the Faculty of Romanic and Germanic Philology of Kyiv Taras Shevechenko University. Ph.D. in Linguistics, has an academic title of Associate Professor.
In diplomatic service since 1990. Since 1997, was Director General for Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, coordinating, inter alea, Ukraine's activity within UNESCO as well as in the realms of gender policy and cooperation between the State and Churches. Was a member of the Bureau of the Council of Europe Steering Committee for Culture. Worked as the Vice-President of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the Holy See since March 2007. In March 2009 started her mission as Ambassador of Ukraine to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
In 2013 - Personal Representative of the Chairperson-in-Office of OSCE on Combating Racism, Xenophobia and Discrimination, also focusing on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians and Members of Other Religions.
Has a diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine.
In April 2009 was awarded a Grand Cross of the Order of Pius IX.
On August 23, 2011, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine № 845/2011 was awarded the Order of Princess Olha, Class III.
Has proficient command of English and French.
Married with a daughter.
